Abstract
Beneficiation studies were carried out on a finely diss-eminated low grade graphite ore by tabling and froth flotation under varying particle size conditions. Due to the fine liberation size the tabling results were not encouraging. To save the graphite flakes a kinetic app-roach was adopted to optimise the particle size for flotation. The kinetic data was analysed using a suitable model. The rougher float produced at a feed size of -841 microns was cleaned after regrinding to give concentrate assaying 95.67% fixed carbon. Microscopic examination of the final concentrate showed an overall enrichment of flaky graphite with little fines.
