Abstract

The paper presents a mathematical model to simulate residence time distribution (WFD) of metalloids in the lower region of blast furnace. It involves hybridization of models of slag theology, momentum transfer phenomena of metal droplet descent through slag systems and metalloids transfer models for both dropping and hearth zone. The RTD simulation model offers a sober analysis of the blast furnace process variables and operational constraints to improve both its hot metal quality and productivity.
