Abstract

The members of the metallurgical community have a great deal to contribute to the successful performance of process eQuipments of chemical industry even though the latter produces chemicals, not metals. Value addition through metallurgical Quality control is extremely impo-rtant in ensuring long useful life of the equipments. These equipments face very severe service conditions: highly corrosive chemicals, high temperatures, high mechanical loads, erosive slurries, cyclic stresses etc. Hence the test of the metallurgical inputs is in the successful performance of the equipments
