Abstract

Limestone, essentially a calcium carbonate rock, is the main source of element calcium and is used as a raw material for various metallurgical, chemical, cement and other industries. Low grade limestone having other impurities like silica etc. can be beneficiated for use in different industries. Limestone, being a low cost raw material, can absorb cheap and simple technique for its processing and at as coarse a size as possible. The paper discusses some of the salient points and observations of the investigations conducted recently at NML on a few limestone samples from the state of Bihar.
