Abstract

The paper deals with the studies on comparative corrosion behaviour of conventional and NML-PM 215 aluminium alloy conductors. Tests carried out were total immersion, polarisation in 3% NaCl as well as in 3% Na2SO4 solution ands salt spray. The data on corrosion rate, electrode potential, salt spray and metallography reveal that the NML-PM 215 is having better corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity and tensile strength than the conventional alloys.
