Abstract

After giving an account of the basic principles involved in the hydrogen removal, developments in aluminium alloy degassing methods namely degassing through (i) scavenger gas (ii) creation of partial vacuum coupled with inert gas injection in a special chamber, (iii) jet formation and (iv) filtration, have been discussed in this paper.
