Abstract

This paper gives outline of the technique of x-ray fluorescence analysis as applied to ores, minerals and their processing products. The direct powder method adopted has been found to be very satisfactory and most apt under the circumstances to cater the analytical needs of the laboratory's bench scale and pilot plant scale mineral processing investigations, where speed rather than accuracy is required to enable the basic process control fulfilled in a broad manner. Different examples of wide variety of ores have been cited. (Shri A. Peravadhanulu, Shri G.P. Mathur and Prof. V.A. Altekar, National Metallurgical Laboratory)
