Abstract

Copper (II), nickel (II), cobalt (II) and palladium (II) form buff green, yellowish orange and yellow coloured precipitate with 4, 5-dimethyl-2-hydroxyacetophenone oxime, which are extractable into non-acqueous solvents as chloroform, carbontetrachloride, ethylacetate etc. having g max (nm) 640, 600, 400 and 400 respectively. Spectrophotometric determination of these metal-ions was carried out successfully even in the presence of foreign ions. Determination of copper (II) and nickel (II) in a mixture was also carried out. Composition, stability constant, Beer's law range and molar extinction co-efficient of the complexes were calculated spectrophotometrically. (Mrs. M. Mittal, Shri Keemtilal, Shri S.P.
