Abstract

The conventional heat resistant cast irons and steels imported and costly alloying elements. They also undergo progressive oxidation and scaling in the temperature range of 850 to 1000°C by incorporating a cheap and indigenously available metal as a major alloying element. The paper gives the mechanical properties and some of the experimental results especially with regard to oxidation and growth values of the NML developed heat resistant alloy. (Sarvashri S.S.
