Abstract

A procedure for simultaneous sequential spectrophotometric determination of silica and alumina content of iron ores and sinters has been outlined. Results obtained by this procedure agreed well with the certified values of standard samples analysed as well as that obtained by conventional methods in the case of other iron ores and sinters. The procedure shortened the time for two important constituents of iron ores and sinters, namely silica and alumina. The accuracy obtained is within the accepted limits for routine determination and process control. (Shri A.C. Biswas, Scientist, Shri K.K. Padhi, Senior Scientific Assistant and Dr. H.P.
