Abstract

Reduction of vanadium and molybdenum with glucose and fructose was studied spectrophotometrically. It was observed that D-fructose reduces vanadium and molybdenum faster than D-glucose. The optimum pH of vanadium reduction is 1 whereas for molydenum reduction it is 1.5. Very high or very low H+ concentrations reduce the reduction rate in both the cases. (Shri L.P.
