Abstract

The paper presents the results of forging down and upsetting processes based on the work carried out in Skoda Works. These processes have been successfully used for producing superior products in comparison to conventional casting. The subject of making heavier forgings and the influence of forging-down and upsetting on quality is a topic of considerable interest and a study in this field is furnished in the paper. (Dipl. Ing.
