Abstract

The object of this experimental work was to study the amenability of plagioclase feldspar to anionic and cationic flotation and to examine and compare the action of HF and water-soluble fluorides on their floatability. After a series of tests it was concluded that the higher the percent of albite, the greater the chances to activate the plagioclose feldspar mineral with hydroflouric acid and float it with relatively high recovery in cationic collector system. It was clarified that the collecting power of dodecylammonium fluoride and sodium dodecyl sulphate on plagioclase feldspar increased, whereas that of sodium oleate decreased in the order of anorthite labradorite and albite.
