Abstract

The effect of copper addition to white cast iron on the reduction of time of malleabilisation has been presented. The advantage of annealing under inert atmosphere over the 'Black Heart' process has been furnished. The C/Si ratio and Mn/S ratio have much influence on the malleabilised material has been found to depend on the copper content of the casting and time and temperature of malleabilisation. (Mr. J.R.
