Abstract

Data on laboratory and pilot plant scale experiments on feasibility of hot-dip aluminising of high tension transmission tower members, comprising pretreatment, coatings, metallography, weight of coating, preece test, soundness test, salt spray corrosion test are given in the paper. Effect of aluminising on mechanical properties of high tensile steel angles is given. Cost and economics in comparison to galvanising are discussed. (Messrs. S.M. Arora and P.K.
