Abstract

The paper describes in detail the different steps involved in making the shell moulds. The availability of the indigenous raw materials suitable for the shell mouldering process are briefly surveyed and some of the test data obtained, on a few indigenous resins at the National Metallurgical Laboratory are also given with a view in assist the Indian foundrymen who wish to adopt or switch over to this process from the present production methods.
