Abstract
To replace time consuming chemical analysis, a procedure was developed for applying x-ray fluorescence to the analysis of an iron ore. Sample preparation reduced to a minimum because it consists of only two steps, pulverization of the ore followed by briquetting. Four minutes grinding with Borax as the grinding aid gives sufficient uniformity to minimise the effect of particle size variation. The combination of double briquetting technique, -coefficient method of correction and solution of linear equation yields a rapid and accurate method.
