Abstract

The paper describes the development of an ice calorimeter to measure the heat content values of liquid metals and alloys upto a temperature of 1,000°C. The accuracy of the calorimeter has been demonstrated by calibrating it against the heat contents of calorimetric grade Al2O3 and liquid lead, both of which are known fairly accurately.
