Abstract

The National Metallurgical laboratory has completed the installation of oil/light petroleum naptha injection system for trials at the Low shaft furnace pilot plant of the NML. Light petroleum naptha is a by-product of Indian petroleum refining industry and is currently in surplus in India. Injection of light naptha would be of considerable signifance for iron smelting and its is with this object, that trials on the injection of light petroleum naptha have been initiated at the Low shaft pilot plant of the NML.
