Magnetics in automobiles

Abstract

Magnetic materials are indispensable in our modern day life. They are used in transformers, motors and generators, relays chokes, memory devices, medical equipments and so on. In the automobile sector too, magnetic materials have equipments and so on. In the automobile sector too, magnetic materials have an important role to play. A fully equipped modern car, for example, has as many as thirty devices where the magnetic materials are used directly. These include motors for locking doors, lifting windows, wipers, etc. and various types of magnetic sensors. The advanced magnetic techniques which are now becoming popular for assessing the quality of various components of automobiles are also briefly discussed in this paper.
