Abstract

The study discusses a more reproducible, accurate and reliable measurement stress wave factor (SWF) of Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic (GRP) composite laminates under Acousto ultrasonic (AU) technique. The energy content of the laminates under Acousto ultrasonic (AU) technique. The energy content of the received signal was used to rank the material interaction with the propagating ultrasonic waves. A software has been developed to evaluate SWF and for signal analysis providing greater accuracy and reliability, as well as giving some important parameters of the received signal envelope. These parameters and strengths were correlated with the measured SWF values, and a good correlation has been noticed.
