Abstract

Knowledge of thermal and electrical conduction parameters is essential for efficient designing of metallic components. Validity of Wiedemann-Franz-Lorenz Law leads to the knowledge of thermal conductivity indirectly by the electrical conductivity measurements. Studies on copper-manganese alloy system carried out indicated the non-availability of Wiedemann-Franz-Lorenz Law. High specific resistance of these alloys coupled with very low thermal co-efficient of electrical resistivity suggests their use as a suitable material for standard resistances. (Mr. M.K.
