Abstract

Annealing time has an important bearing on the production of malleable iron and several attempts have been made to reduce it by inoculation or other techniques. In the present investigation the authors have obtained encouraging results by addition of Cu which was found to accelerate the first stage graphitization and it was shown that the higher the annealing temperature the shorter the annealing time required for complete graphitization.
