Abstract

The intensities of emergent x-rays, after varying absorption by the metallic sheet itself, at different angles of the azimuth, over an entire Debye cone, when diffracted by polycyrstalline randomly-oriented sheets of silicon steel and aluminium, have been calculated from the lengths of the corresponding diffracted beams determined graphically. Pole figures for random orientation, for reflection of MoKµ radiation from the (110) planes in silicon steel and of CuKµ radiation from the (111) planes in aluminium, have been drawn, to show the effect of varying absorption.
