Effect of p-nitrophenol on corrosion behaviour of white Cast iron and aluminium added white Cast iron

Abstract

Corrosion behaviour of Cast iron and aluminium added cast iron samples have been determined in NaCI (I.OM) with the addition of different concentrations of p-nitrophenol. It is found that as the concentration ofp-nitrophenol increases, corrosion rate also increases. However, with the addition of aluminium in Cast iron corrosion rate decreases. But in the case of aluminium added cast iron with the increase in p-nitrophenol, corrosion rate also increases.
