Abstract
The efficacy of CNG, LPG and LDO as fuel for melting the charge mix in cokeless cupola is well established. The efficiency of melting in cokeless cupola is found to be about 1.5 times more than the conventional coke-fired cupola. The SPM and effluent gases are minimal making the exhaust gas virtually invisible. The melting in cokeless cupola is more economical than conventional coke-fired cupola and it is ideally suited for iron foundries.
