Abstract

Thermo-mechanical processing (TMP) plays a very decisive role in the transformation of microstructure and improves the mechanical properties of different types of microalloyed steels. A number of steels having low and extra low percentage of carbon and one or more micro alloying elements have been developed by thermomechanical processing route to acquire improved strength, formability and toughness. The effect ofTMP on the structure and mechanical properties of a variety of steels has been discussed.
