Abstract
The individual utility of the phosphate coating has invoked large-scale experimental evaluation and investigation. The use of synergistic additives such as sodium hexametaphosphate, manganese phosphate, zinc chromate and their combination had been studied in view of their effect on coating weight, impact strength and salt spray resistance. Limited ranges of blending of additives were found at which maximum enrichment of corrosion resistance properties observed and were attributed to the synergistic effect.
