Abstract

The discovery of nickel - chromium - cobalt bearing magnetite deposit of Nagaland is of particular significance. The smelting reduction study of this magnetite deposit has been carried out at both laboratory scale and bench scale for the recovery of metallic values in alloy pig iron which can be used for producing several value added products. This study promises bright prospects for its useful applications. The exploitation of this magnetite deposit will certainly bring a number of socio - economic benefits to the people of Nagaland.
