Abstract
In the present study, it was found out that the blade failed by fatigue mechanism and the erosion-corrosion pits were held responsible for creation of fatigue cracks. It was further concluded that the operating and maintenance conditions of the turbine blade were not followed prop-erly. The problem was occuring over a period of time and not an accident kind of thing.
