Abstract
Process Water - Water used in the actual processing of chemical is obtained after treating the naturally avail-able (hereafter called raw) water suiting the process requirement. In most of the processes, the treatment is to remove the hardness of water. This is done by the conven-tional softening plants. The usual objection to using hard water is that there is a likelihood of formation of cal-cium and magnesium salts which affect the reactions and also tend to form insoluble calcium and magnesium salts.
