Investigation was carried out to identify the scrap materials stated to be of a bomb blast at
Srimohangarh (Rajasthan). On basis of visual examination, the whole scrap materials was sorted into
mainly three types (a) Brass like appearance (b) Steel like appearance (c) Aluminium like appearance.
The chemical analysis of each type of scraps was performed. On the basis of chemical analysis, the
scraps could broadly be categorised into the following categories of materials.
1. Cartridge Brass (70Cu-30Zn).
2. Steel (Plain carbon steel, Low alloy steel, Alloy steel).
3. Aluminium Alloy (Al-Si-Cu, Al-Mn-Cu, Al-Si-Mg and Al-Si-Mg-Mn).
