Abstract

Three different iron ore concentrates samples, welding about 25 Kg., each, were received by National Metallurgical Laboratory from the Kudremukh Iron Ore Mines of National Minerals Development Corporation Ltd., for determining the work index values of the three test samples varied between 23.81 KWH/tonne and 26.35 KWH/tonne. The setting tests of the concentrates ground to -250 mesh size indicated the minimum areas required for setting one tonne of dry solids to be varying between 0.058 and 0.08 sq. meters. The filtration tests of the concentrates ground to -250 mesh size and containing 60% solids indicated the filtration rates to be 879.7, 550.6, and 736.5 Kg/hr/sq. the meter of filter area of concentrates 1,2, and 3 respectively.
