Abstract

Recent studies have indicated that hydrogen embritt-lement is a result of lowering of lattice cohesion and build up high internal pressure microcrack. The effect of prior plastic deformation on TTF (Total Time to fracture)of sustained tensile loaded steel under cathodic hydro-genation condition has been studied. The effect of incr-easing cathodic current, cold reduction, poison (As2O3) and the effect of dynamic tensile loading on TTF have also been studied.
