Abstract

The application of X-ray fluorometric technique has been extended to analyse a series of low alloy steel samples for quantitative determination of Mn, Ni, Cr, Mo, V and Cu. A Philips PW-1410 X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer with LiF 220 crystal is used. The calibration curves were prepared with the help of British Standards of low alloy steels. The results obtained were reproducible. (Dr. S.C. Srivastava & Shri M.K. Ghose, Scientists, National Metallurgical Laboratory)
