Spectrographic analysis of low alloy steels by solution technique

Abstract

A spectrographic method for analysis of low alloy steels by the solution-porous cup technique using synthetic standards has been described in this paper. Solutions of the samples were introduced in specially prepared porous graphite cups serving as upper electrodes and high voltage spark was used for excitation. Reproducible results, which are in good agreement with chemical results, have been obtained by this method. (Shri M.K. Ghosh, Scientist, National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur)
